Maintaining Consistency While Enhancing Creativity
Hey Bud is an Australian-based skincare brand known for its hemp-infused products that promote clear, healthy skin through natural ingredients and a fun, youthful brand voice.
Hey Bud’s growth across Meta, Google, and Pinterest required a steady stream of ad creative that felt fresh, engaging, and on-brand. As a designer and production artist, my challenge was to uphold the brand’s bold and playful aesthetic while producing ads that could flex across multiple formats and platforms. This included working with various inputs like product photography, UGC, and seasonal messaging.
Systematic Testing Through Creative Exploration
I designed a variety of paid social ads using a modular approach—swapping in different product images, experimenting with UGC placements, tweaking color palettes, and iterating on headline copy. Visual hierarchy, contrast, and scroll-stopping moments were at the forefront of the design decisions.
I collaborated with marketing to fine-tune creative based on performance signals, while still ensuring each design aligned with Hey Bud’s youthful, skin-positive brand identity.

While I was not able to access performance metrics working with this client, it gave me valuable hands-on experience in creating visually engaging assets for paid performance.
I developed a sharper eye for balancing branded consistency with creative testing. It sharpened my ability to scale production efficiently while still bringing intentionality to every asset.
